Spring Field Trip for New Students

On Friday, May 1, approximately 170 students who enrolled in a Japanese language school in April visited Tokyo International University’s Kawagoe Campus 1 as part of a field trip for new students.
On the day of the event, four large buses from Tokyo International University picked up the students at their Japanese language school in Takadanobaba, and they arrived at the university’s main campus, Kawagoe Campus 1, in about an hour.
Upon arrival, the students were given access to one of the student lounges where students typically spend their free time, where they participated in a fan-painting workshop. The students drew their own unique designs and enjoyed deepening their bonds with one another.
During lunch, taking advantage of a short break in the university’s schedule, graduates of the Japanese language school who are currently enrolled at the university came to greet their juniors. The venue was filled with a warm atmosphere as everyone reunited after a long time.
After lunch, accompanied by staff from the university’s Admissions Center, three students who graduated from the Japanese language school last March and are now enrolled in the Faculty of Commerce gave a tour of the campus. While touring the library, gymnasium, and main auditorium, the “JAPANESE PLAZA”—a facility where students can continue studying Japanese even after becoming university students—drew particular interest from the group.
When the hot summer arrives, we hope they will cool off with the fans they painted today and look back fondly on this enjoyable experience.
Finally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the graduates who are now attending Tokyo International University for their cooperation, as well as to the administrative staff at Tokyo International University.
