From the Director of Academic Affairs

After summer vacation ended, Tokyo experienced over a month of continuous heavy rain, causing damage in various areas, but autumn has now arrived. Since autumn is the season for reading, the arts, and good food, I’m sure many of you enjoyed various activities during Silver Week in late September. I hope you’ll actively engage with Japanese people.
In mid-September, all classes took the September exams, which included conversation, written, and listening tests. Some students had to take makeup exams due to the flu, while others appeared very nervous during the speaking test, and in some cases, it seemed they were unable to demonstrate their true abilities. Since the same applies to college entrance exams and job interviews, please make a conscious effort to prepare for exams and take care of your health on a daily basis.
About 60 new students will enroll in October. I look forward to watching over them as they enjoy interacting with new people, inspire one another, and broaden the scope of their learning.

From the Career Guidance Office

In contrast to the summer heat gradually subsiding, the college entrance exam season is heating up. With Tokyo International University leading the way, followed by universities such as Meiji University and Hosei University, as well as vocational schools, we’ve seen a large number of applicants through the designated school recommendation system, and we get the impression that there are more and more highly motivated students. Once students decide on their target schools, the next step is to begin preparing their applications.Recently, online applications have become increasingly common. While students can enter their information using their own smartphones, we recommend using the school’s computer lab because the text on smartphones is often too small, making it easy to overlook important instructions, and because a printed copy is required after submission. In the computer lab, students can enter their information on a large screen and print it out quickly using the on-site printer. Of course, if students encounter any difficulties with the application process, we also provide individual support in the Career Guidance Office. We are constantly striving to maintain an environment where students can easily prepare their applications.

Announcements from the Secretariat

With the arrival of our new students for the October term, the fall semester will begin on October 8. We hope you will set new goals at the start of the semester and, with renewed determination, work hard to ensure you achieve those goals by the end of the fall semester. We also ask that parents please offer words of encouragement to their children. We expect to be able to release the report cards for the summer semester (July–September) shortly.
Additionally, we are scheduled to hold regular health checkups on October 27 for new students who enrolled this October, as well as for current students who enrolled last July and October.

That is all.
