From the Director of Academic Affairs

　Now that summer vacation is over, the students seem to have been chatting about their fun experiences and exchanging souvenirs. Although the hot weather continues, I’d like to encourage them to shift their focus and apply themselves to their studies.
　The graduating class held a haiku contest, with students composing haiku that capture their thoughts through seasonal scenes. The haiku selected from each class will be displayed in the lobby in September.
Graduating students must now prepare for their future paths with even more concrete planning than before. Whether you plan to continue your education—by applying what you learned at open campus events—or seek employment—by determining your direction based on the information you’ve gathered—please make full use of what you accomplished during summer break in your future endeavors.
　The results of the first JLPT session were announced on August 27. Based on those results, students are currently applying for the second JLPT session in December. We would like to support you in developing effective study plans that align with your personal goals.

From the Career Guidance Office

　The entrance exam season has finally begun. From now until March of next year, “universities” will hold one or more exams, while “vocational schools” will hold exams about once a month on average. While “universities” allow applicants to take the exam multiple times, the majority of “vocational schools” do not permit multiple attempts and will stop administering exams once they reach capacity.
　It’s only natural for everyone to want to decide on their next educational path early on for peace of mind and to make the most of the remainder of their time at Japanese language school. However, the longer you wait to take the entrance exams, the more your developing Japanese language skills will improve. When applying to vocational schools that allow only one attempt and stop holding exams once they reach capacity, choosing the right time to take the exam is a crucial part of your test-taking strategy.This year, we will continue to maintain close contact with vocational schools that have a high number of applicants and work to identify test dates that allow students to take the exam in the best possible condition.
